BBQ Turkey Burgers

BBQ Sauce:

-1 TBS GF Butter

-1 small diced onion

-3 cloves of minced garlic

-1 can of tomato paste

-1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar

-1/2 cup of broth or water

-1 tsp of cayanne

-1/2 tsp of cinnamon

-salt and pepper to taste


-1.5 lb of ground turkey

-1/4 cup of BBQ sauce

-1 large carmelized onion

Instructions: In a small sauce pan, melt your butter. add your small onion.  I like to cook it till soft, carmelized if I have the patience.  Add your garlic and let soften for a minute, being careful not to burn.  Add the rest of your ingredients and let simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring regularly.  Voila!  You have Paleo BBQ Sauce.

Mix 1/2 cup of sauce with your ground turkey and form into patties.  Cook on the grill, George Foreman, or in a frying pan with a cover on it until the juices run clear. Top with BBQ sauce and carmelized onions.  It is awesome.
